I first bought the Palm Key, it was the one I most often saw pictured with small CW rigs. I
used it for several months but was not satisfied with the feel of it. Then I got the
Porta-Paddle, I found it much easier to use, my sending speed, before too many errors, improved.
I have used all three of these keys with my K1. I like the fact that the Palm paddles would
slide into the case for protection. The Porta-Paddle is mounted on an optional base. I am glad
to have this base for home use, but would not want to take it into the field due to the weight.
For portable use I mount the K1 on a thin board that is wide enough to also mount the
Portapaddle and the straight key.
